Review:

Stockfisch Records and Glitterhouse Records released respectively Poet Wind and Down to the Wire at the same time. If you ask David about it, he thinks that he is writing musical history by being on two labels at the same time. Whatever the truth is Storie From The Curve, David’s acoustic release from 1995, has with “Down to the Wire” an excellent successor. Again Glitterhouse Records has the vision to put eleven songs on one record that is even tasteful as thrilling. Down to the Wire was recorded at Gunter Pauler acoustic studio in Norhheim, Germany, in the fall of 1997. Down to the Wire reach his absolute climax in the song “Holding Aces”, a song that David could have wrote in the late eighties. For the first time we hear some real blues influences on “Looking at the Rain” and “Zavala’s Café”. The ultimate country waltzes “Song for Maureem O'Hare”. Down to the Wire is a well produced Munyon effort. The album is available only through the Glitterhouse Mail order or at David's shows. It al comes in a Digipak packaging.
